  1. Take care of those who love you. Be nice to those who don’t, even though it can be hard as hell to do that at times.
  2. Music is your friend.
  3. Ask yourself, “What would Jack Kirby do?”
  4. Like what you like and don’t be ashamed. Well, unless what you like is shameful. If that’s the case, shame away!
  5. Sometimes it helps to just shut up and listen.
  6. You’ll never be like _______. (Insert name of person who is more awesome than you.) Just accept it and move on. Learn to be like you, only a little better.
  7. If you can find something you enjoy that you are also good at, and if you can find somebody to pay you money to do it — and it’s not illegal — you are a lucky person.
  8. There’s a lot of ugly in this world, but there’s also a lot of awesome. Perpetuate the awesome. Reject the ugly.
  9. Little Richard.
  10. Sometimes the mystery’s better than the reveal.
  11. Read more books.

  31. Kids are amazing. Be nice to them. Even the rotten ones.
  32. This world is wild at heart and crazy on top.
  33. Everybody’s a hypocrite. Especially you.
  34. Don’t hold back from doing something just because you’re afraid you’ll look foolish. Constant fear of The Whatever is no way to live.
